Seed and Plant Growth, Week 1

Every day after prepping them, I rotated the pots 180° and took a photo before taking off for work beginning Monday morning (typing that now I realize I'd mistakenly called July 17th a Saturday multiple times over the last few posts -- ignore that, it was a Sunday).

Nothing visible happened Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday except a decay in the condition of the squash plant in the red pot (upper right in each photo above).

Wednesday night I remembered to check the kitty grass in the cabinet and found the seeds had certainly germinated; thus the sudden grass presence in the morning photos below beginning with Thursday.

If you look REAL close on the Friday photo (the second one directly above), you can see little white thingies poking out of the soil in the "bottom end" of the galvanized trough.

Ok, here's a little help:

And then look at the plants the morning of Saturday, July 23rd.

Those little seedlings in the trough shot up into little plantlings over the course of a day. Nevermind how lush the grass became since Thursday!

This Friday morning photo reminds me of home in spring:

Check out how tall the kitty grass is Saturday. I want to share deli cups of grass with everyone as it is so soft and delicate to the touch. That the blades stand so upright in naturally neat alignment soothes my OCD tendencies.
